About Hello Kitchen

Cindy Black is a registered architect in Austin, Texas with a specialization in kitchen design. Her years of experience as a home cook and food writer inform the many decisions that create a functional, beautiful kitchen space. Cindy has consulted with over one hundred clients in the central Austin area, and in turn has considered many of the challenges and design opportunities in renovating historic homes.

After graduating with honors from the University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture in 2000, Cindy began working with her husband in 2001 at their firm, Rick & Cindy Black Architects. Together they focus on transformative renovations and new construction, and have been featured on the AIA Homes Tour and Cool House Tour. She was registered by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners in 2005, and became a member of the American Institute of Architects in 2012.
